Pilot software notice
Lightship 0.10.0-rc1 is evaluation software. It has not yet received an Administration declaration and must not replace the vessel’s approved statutory record books.
Permitted pilot use
- Training, demonstrations and controlled parallel record keeping.
- Usability evaluation by authorized crew and shore personnel.
- Print/export, recovery and workflow acceptance testing.
Required controls
- Continue maintaining the ship’s approved statutory record books.
- Use unique named accounts; never share Master credentials.
- Verify vessel identity, time, position, quantities and applicable rules before every submission.
- Maintain protected backups and record all pilot observations.
- Do not upload live vessel data to a cloud environment that has not completed security and data-protection acceptance.
Regulatory pathway
Statutory use requires assessment of the exact software version against MEPC.312(74), applicable MARPOL/NOx record-book requirements and Flag Administration instructions, followed by the required ship-specific declaration.
